Social media policy is a guideline that been provided by organization to employees, whom take charge in organization's social media domain.
As we are now living in technological era, everything go easy with an internet. Same as organization, which most of the organization are having their own official Facebook, Twitter or even Instagram account which to maintain relationship between organization and their consumer.
Therefore, is a must for organization to develop social media policy in order to create a best relationship and keep interaction with their consumer.
Examples
From this, i can assume that they must have a great, proper and professional social media policy to guide employees in handling social media, in order to maintain best relationship with customer or to attract more people on their organization.
Not only for maintain relationship, social media policy can also build up an organization reputation sometimes might generate consumer brand loyalty.Take Dell for example, a recent report claims that Twitter has make DELL 1 million in revenue over the past year and a half.

As we know that, building reputation for company is hard, but losing company reputation can just be in 1 minute. The worst example Amy's Baking Company & Pizzeria , A.B.C., an upscale full service Retail Patisserie.
I do not know what actually happen by reading their Facebook page, but the reply status write by the company is totally wrong which also include some negative words in their status. I do not know how long-lasting will this company be, but i guess their Facebook page will be disappear maybe within few months.
